Are you the next star to come out of the south side? Test your talent at the Beverly Arts Center's South Side Idol competitions this summer.

The BAC will host two competitions, the first Tues., July 10 and Thurs., July 12, and the second Tues., Aug. 14 and Fri., Aug. 17. Finalists will be chosen on the first night of competition, then go on to vie for three top prizes on the second night. Winners will receive cash prizes, $100 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place. The top two winners will also be invited to perform as the opening act for an upcoming concert at the BAC.

The competition is open to all ages, and will begin at 7:30 p.m. Performer entry fees are $8 in advance or $10 at the door; audience admission is $3 or $2 for children under 12 and seniors. Chicago actor and BAC theater instructor Anthony Whitaker will emcee. (Judges to be announced.)
