Local illustrator featured in SXU exhibit

The works of graphic artist/illustrator John Stanicek are on display through April 5 at Saint Xavier University's SXU Gallery, 3700 W. 103rd St.
Stanicek said the exhibit is inspired by machines and their components.
“Every day of this modern life we are exposed to machines and mechanical things. Still, we seldom consider our encounter with these objects significant even though they do the work, provide the work, or save on the work of our daily routine,” said Stanicek. “Their presence and influence are often overlooked. We love them and we hate them, yet this relationship is ever present.”
Stanicek is a graphic artist/illustrator from Aurora and works as a Studio Artist in ceramics at Waubonsee Community College. His work has been displayed throughout Illinois since 2003.

The Gallery is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, please contact the Gallery at (773) 298-3081.

I do like the page structure and tones, but I ought to point out that I’m having issues when it loads. I’m using Shiira 1 browser for mac, and the side panel doesn’t align properly. i’m confident applied exactly the same layout on a client’s web site, but the menu seems Ok on mine. I have an idea the problem is at my end & I suppose it’s time to swap!
