Teens invited to "Seussical" auditions
Teens entering grade 9 and older are invited to audition for the Beverly Arts Center's Teen Thespians production of "Seussical the Musical". Auditions will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tues., May 29, and Wed., May 30. Callbacks will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thurs., May 31.
Performances will be at 10:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. Thurs., Aug. 2, and Fri., Aug. 3, on the main stage at the Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St.
Teen Thespians is the BAC School of the Arts summer theater production for teens. The cast will perform not only for friends and family, but for young audiences as well in two weekday performances as part of the BAC's Bravo Jr. theater series. There is no tuition for the program, but a $80 costuming fee will apply.
Students in the Teen Thespians program are expected to demonstrate a high level of professionalism well as strong performance skills. Rehearsals will be held from noon to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, June 18 through July 26; actors will be called as needed.
"Seussical the Musical" is based on the stories of Dr. Seuss and features energetic music, challenging choreography, innovative costuming, and plenty of opportunities for talented teen performers to shine in over-the-top character roles.
