Man sought in assault at Beverly business
Police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint Tuesday morning inside a bathroom at the Beverly insurance agency where she is employed.
The man entered the business, located in the 10900 block of South Western Avenue, at 11 a.m. Tuesday and forced the woman into a restroom at gunpoint, according to a community alert from Calumet Area detectives.
The man then sexually assaulted her, demanded money from her and fled out the rear door in an unknown direction.
He is described as black, 20 to 25 years old, 5-feet-10 to 6 feet tall with a medium build, close-cropped black hair, a thin mustache, brown eyes and dark complexion. He also has a small pock mark or scar under his left eye, as well as acne scars on his face, the alert said.
He was last seen wearing an earring in his right ear, a gray pullover sweatshirt with an insignia on the left side of the chest, dark blue jeans and black gym shoes, according to the alert.
